Vitreoretinal Surgery
- For certain diseases like Retinal Detachment, Vitreous Hemorrhage, Macular Hole, Tractional Retinal Detachment, Dropped Nucleus / IOL during cataract surgery, vitreo retina surgery is done. Here, the vitreous is removed from the vitreous cavity and the underlying pathology is treated and the integrity of retina is restored. This surgery is done at Vala Eye Centre using the latest Microincision Vitrectomy Surgery (MIVS) system. After the surgery, either gas bubble or silicon oil may be injected in replacement of the vitreous removed. A prone position might be advised for 2 weeks post-operative in certain conditions to attach the retina.
