How does the Eye work?

When the light falls on the eye, through the various clear media like cornea, pupil, lens and vitreous, it reaches the retina. In retina, the photoreceptors are stimulated and then the various layers of retina collect this information and send it to the brain through through the optic nerve. At the visual cortex of the brain, the information is processed and sent back to the macular region of retina which helps us to see the image.

  • Floaters or cobwebs like floating in front of eyes.
  • Flashes of light.
  • Curtain-like shadow floating in front of eyes.
  • Broken lines (metamorphopsia).
  • Sudden loss of vision.
