Uveitis

What is Uveitis?

Uveitis is inflammation of the uvea, the middle layer of the eye, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. It can cause redness, pain, blurred vision, and light sensitivity. Uveitis may result from infections, autoimmune disorders, or injuries, and can lead to serious complications if untreated. Treatment often involves anti-inflammatory medications or immunosuppressive drugs.

Symptoms of Uveitis:

  • Severe redness in the eye
  • Pain in eye
  • Dark floating spots in your vision, called floaters
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Blurred vision

Types of Uveitis:

  • Anterior Uveitis ( most common)
  • Intermediate Uveitis
  • Posterior Uveitis
  • Panuveitis
  • Endophthalmitis
  • Panophthalmitis
